STEPS FOR RELATIONSHIP DEVELOPMENT YOU WISH YOU KNEW EARLIER

1. Good Customer Relations

As a person that wants to be productive and profit in Business and career, you must understand the concept of good customer service. Relating with your customer in a way that create a feeling of fulfillment and well appreciated is key.

When people feel fulfilled relating with you, they always want to come back to you, and when this happens, it brings about more patronage + Stronger relationship = more money.

2. Effective collaboration

When you have good relationship with people, it presents you an opportunity to tap into their Goldmine. You are able to have them do things for you for free or at a reduced and mutual beneficial way and in the end you save time, energy, resources and money. Don’t just keep to yourself, make efforts to get involved with what others are doing and work together.

Let me give you example.

At this level of my life, it is almost impossible for me to bring a speaker from UK, or bring a PhD holder in Gender Communication, or bring the Former Chief Medical Director of Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Benin as speakers for my events. But guess what? All these people came on board to speak at my event. And I was able to partner with a radio station, a professional organization and I got the venue for FREE through effective collaboration.

3. Networking

Networking is another way you can profit from and build your interpersonal relationships. Networking with people as a result of your ability to effectively relate with people place you on high. It sells you out to people that matters in your field and helps you maximize your skills. When you achieve this, you gain more credibility and influence. And credibility + influence + skills=Value. Value + people + action=Money. In 2020 I was awarded in Lagos as a Brand of the year. This and many more started through networking

4. Leverage on opportunity and skills

Always take advantage of opportunities. Be prepared for anything. Opportunity will always come, your ability to recognize it and leverage on it will fetch you networks of people of like minds.

5. Physical Appearance

The matching hypothesis proposed by sociologist Erving Goffman suggests that people are more likely to form long standing relationships with those who are equally matched in social attributes, like physical attractiveness. Learn to have a good physical appearance.

6. Exposure Effect

The exposure effect, also known as the familiarity principle, states that the more a person is exposed to something, the more they come to like it. This applies equally to both objects and people. Go out, attend tannings and connect with people.

The most important thing to consider is Personal Development. Here you have:
